Children’s  Ministry

For ages five through twelve, our Junior Church ministry reaches out to children on their own learning level. Junior Church begins in the main service at 8:30 AM on Sundays and is dismissed before the Pastor’s sermon generally around 8:55 AM. You can expect your child to participate in the following activities while in Junior Church:

  • Interactive Singing
  • Bible Verse Memorization
  • Games & Prizes
  • Practical Bible Lesson
  • Bible Lesson Worksheets
  • Bible Challenge
  • Bible Lesson Quiz

The curriculum we use is a modified version of the Children of Character series published by Quality Speech Materials. This curriculum series focuses on godly character traits that all children should adopt in their life. Music Ministry

Christ Centered Baptist Church believes that music is a gift from God to be used for His glory (Colossians 1:16). The goal of the music ministry at CCBC is to be God-honoring and sacred in its presentation. Our services comprise of much congregational singing where we utilize the hymns of the faith. You will participate in singing such songs as My Hope is in the Lord, Saved by the Blood, Love Lifted Me, And Can It Be, among others. Occasionally, special music is brought before the message is preached. Several specials include such songs as He Gave Himself, People Need the Lord, Weeping Will Not Save Me, and It’s My Desire. There are four basic principles that guide our philosophy in music:

1. In the area of vocal music, special attention is given to insure that the text is appropriate to a godly testimony. This includes both content and literary style (Colossians 3:16; Ephesians 4:29, 5:4).
2. Performance techniques reinforce the message of the song and avoid sensuality or the glorification of the performer. In other words, we seek to minister through music to others and not to perform for them (1 Corinthians 10:31).
3. We do not borrow from certain styles of music and specifically avoid music that sounds like rock, rap, country and western, new age, and jazz (I John 2:15).
4. Songs or styles, which are strongly identified with unbiblical movements or worldly practices, are avoided (Romans 12:1, 2). We do not wish to lead our congregation toward music which is questionable or which might violate believers’ consciences. However, we do wish to “follow after the things which make for peace, and things wherewith one may edify another.“ (Romans 14:15-19).

Van  Ministry

As part of our outreach ministry, transportation is provided to people who need assistance getting to church. We regularly provide transportation to our Sunday Morning, Sunday Evening, as well as our Mid-Week Bible Study. In addition, this ministry has supplied transportation for church wide activities and outings for other outreaches.  This ministry has been vital in enabling many people to come to hear God’s Word and to find Christ. Please do not hesitate to call us if you need transportation to Christ Centered Baptist Church in the Plainfield area.

Soulwinning/Discipleship  Ministry

At Christ Centered Baptist Church, Jesus commanded His disciples to go into all the world and “preach the gospel.” To meet this priority, several times a week the people of Christ Centered Baptist Church go into the community and invite people to our church, but more importantly to the Lord. We want everyone to know for sure that Heaven will be there eternal home, and we are going out into the community to compel the unsaved to become saved! Please contact the Pastor Santos to join us in this great endeavor of reaching Plainfield to Christ.

The ministry of discipleship has sought to balance a soul winning passion with the biblical mandate of reproducing committed followers of Jesus Christ. A key point that must be understood is that true biblical discipleship includes both soul winning and teaching. Soul winning begins the conforming process and teaching (through personal one-on-one guidance and training) makes a committed follower. Our pastoral assistant, David Gerak, heads up the discipleship ministry for new believers.
